What Movie Should You Watch Tonight? (Barstool Movie Suggestions, March 2020)
Introducing the Lights Camera Barstool Movie Club (vol. 001).
We are often asked for suggestions on what movies to stream or watch and we figured, once a month, we are going to give out the most random pick possible. Are they all good movies? Of course not! Some are good, some are bad, some are on the list for pure nostalgia reasons, but they're all on there with the potential to spark some interest.
I've included where each movie can be streamed, along with its ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic and my person ratings. Let us know in the comment section below the first random movie that pops into your head...
'Flubber' (1997)

SYNOPSIS: Professor Philip Brainard (Robin Williams) is experimenting with new kinds of energy, and he thinks this project will save struggling Medfield College, where his girlfriend, Sara (Marcia Gay Harden), is president. But when he discovers a lively, rubber-like substance dubbed "flubber," he gets so excited, he absent-mindedly misses his own wedding. Sara dumps him, so he tries to use his discovery to win her back; unfortunately, the mischievous flubber seems to have a mind of its own.

SYNOPSIS: Jimmy "The Tulip" Tudeski (Bruce Willis), a mob hitman-turned-informant, ratted on the mob and put his life in jeopardy. Now he has moved to suburban Montreal, ostensibly to make a new start. His next-door neighbor is mild-mannered, unhappily married dentist Nick "Oz" Oseransk (Matthew Perry). Nick recognizes Jimmy from the newspaper stories about his mob testimony, and that's when Nick's simple, boring world turns upside down.
'Disturbia' (2007)

SYNOPSIS: A troubled high school student becomes convinced he is living next door to a wanted serial killer. During his domestic confinement, he begins to spy on his mysterious neighbour, believing him to be a murderous psychopath on the run from the authorities.

'Season of the Witch' (2011)

A dying cardinal orders Behman and his friend, Felson (Ron Perlman), to take an accused witch to a remote abbey, where monks will destroy her powers and end the pestilence. As Behman and five comrades undertake the dangerous journey, they come to realize that the prisoner is no ordinary girl, and evil forces await at the destination.

SYNOPSIS: Resurfacing on an alien planet, the Leprechaun (Warwick Davis) abducts a member of the world's royalty, Princess Zarina (Rebekah Carlton), in an attempt to wed her and become the supreme ruler. Unfortunately for the diminutive schemer, well-armed soldiers arrive to foil his plans. Not easily defeated, however, the feisty Leprechaun continues to battle the warriors while also contending with the warped scientist known as Dr. Mittenhand (Guy Siner).

SYNOPSIS: Just after the end of the Gulf War, four American soldiers decide to steal a cache of Saddam Hussein's hidden gold. Led by cynical Sergeant Major Archie Gates (George Clooney), three of the men are rescued by rebels, but Sergeant Troy Barlow (Mark Wahlberg) is captured and tortured by Iraqi intelligence. The Iraqi rebels beg for the American trio to help fight against the impending arrival of Hussein's Elite Guard. The men agree to fight in return for help rescuing Troy.
'From Paris With Love' (2010)

Trigger-happy Charlie soon has James crying for his desk job, but when he learns that the same guys they're trying to catch are after him, James realizes that Charlie may be his only hope of survival.

The boy then places other toys in the cupboard and they too come to life, even engaging in entertaining battles. But after Little Bear is wounded, Omri begins to understand that his animate toys are not mere playthings.
'I, Frankenstein' (2014)

SYNOPSIS: Two centuries after Dr. Frankenstein assembles and reanimates his creature, Adam (Aaron Eckhart) is still living. He becomes embroiled in a war between two immortal races: gargoyles, the traditional protectors of mankind, and evil demons. Since Adam is neither human nor demon, gargoyle Queen Leonore (Miranda Otto) and demon Prince Naberius (Bill Nighy) each want him for their own purposes. It is up to Adam to discover his inner humanity and the reason for his continued existence.
